How much does it cost to install solar panels in Dubai? (2026)
Installed prices, system sizes, savings and payback for rooftop solar on a Dubai villa, using DEWA's current tariff.

Most Dubai villas install between 5 and 10 kWp of panels. Installed prices in 2025 and 2026 guides work out at roughly AED 3,500 to 6,000 per kWp, including equipment, labor, permits and DEWA fees.
Solar panels for home: typical prices by system size
| System size | Typical installed price | Yearly output |
|---|---|---|
| 5 kWp | AED 20,000 to 30,000 | ~7,750 kWh |
| 10 kWp | AED 35,000 to 55,000 | ~15,500 kWh |
| 15 kWp | AED 60,000 to 80,000 | ~23,250 kWh |
Output assumes about 1,550 kWh per kWp a year, the middle of the 1,500 to 1,600 range seen in Dubai systems.
What it saves: a worked example
A villa using 4,500 kWh a month adds a 10 kWp system. The panels produce about 1,292 kWh a month. Because DEWA charges more per kWh as use rises, solar cuts the most expensive units first.
Industry guides put most Dubai payback periods at 4 to 8 years. UAE nationals pay lower DEWA rates (7.5 to 12.5 fils, with no fuel surcharge), so their payback is longer. Select "UAE national" in the calculator to see your numbers.
What changes the price
- Panel and inverter brands. Premium brands cost more per kWp.
- Roof type and access. Flat concrete roofs are the simplest; complex roofs need more mounting work.
- Batteries. Optional in Dubai, since net metering already credits your exports.
- Monitoring and maintenance. Ask whether cleaning and O&M are included and for how long.
